When an engine cites IRC §482, it links to uscode.house.gov: the Office of the Law Revision Counsel, the official U.S. House publisher of the U.S. Code. When it cites Treas. Reg. §1.482-1, it links to ecfr.gov: the Office of the Federal Register, the official publisher of the CFR. When it cites an ASU, it links to fasb.org. When it cites a Tax Court memo, it links to the U.S. Tax Court's own DAWSON system. No blogs, no SEO aggregators, no paywalled secondaries.
Our rule is simple: route to the primary publisher wherever a free official source exists. We use a free public mirror only when the primary publisher either paywalls the content (PACER for lower federal courts) or does not host the historic record (supremecourt.gov lacks pre-2001 opinions). Those two exceptions are called out explicitly in the table below.
Every resolved URL is pinned by an automated test. If a citation ever routes to a host not on the table below, CI fails before the build ships.

What if a link ever feels off?
External sites occasionally restructure (the OECD site moved in 2024; the U.S. Tax Court migrated to DAWSON). When we notice, we ship a resolver update and the regression test catches any host that falls off the allow-list. If you ever see a citation that lands somewhere unexpected, email support@noesiscfo-io.uswith the citation and we'll fix it in the same day.
